Hello, how is everyone?

Today is saturday, my favorite day of the week. It's the only day I usually make plans for because there's still sunday before I have to go back to work. Is it like that for everyone else too?

This week I was missing the frills so I made an open invitation to the portuguese lolita community and surprise, two girls actually said they'd like to meet and hang out. That made me very happy!

Saturday is my house cleaning/chores day as well though and that means i spent the whole morning ironing and cleaning and took a bit too long doing that so when the girls arrived I was dressed but with no makeup on. I asked them to come up to my room and we chatted while i finished getting ready.

After that we finally left the house. We went to a nearby famous spot where they had a urban market going on, Plano B. One of the male Egl Portugal members was there selling some clothes he creates with a friend and had asked to come over. He seemed happy to see us and i was sure happy to see him again. He has been nothing but be very kind to me and my familly so he will always be loved by us. <3

After that we went to a new spot for pictures, its called Jardim das Oliveiras (Olive tree garden). Unfortunately then we realised that we forgot the memory card at home so we could not use my camera. We took outfit shots with a cellphone instead.

Mari had a lot of fun because there's a big area where she can just safely walk around which is what she likes doing the most. ^_^;
After a while we did have to go though, the girls had trains to catch and it was getting a bit chilly.
We stopped by the local Costa Café to get cappuccino and latte and then eventually said our goodbyes and went home.
On our way home we still walked a bit around town since there were a lot of events going on all through my area, apparently to celebrate the national historical center day. That was fun! I love seeing my city come to life like that.

On top of that my husband ordere pizza so this day was pretty good. Tomorrow I have plans too, i can't wait to see what will happen. <3

This week I also took photos of my little monica girl, she's wearing a dress and a hair accessory i made out of mari's old clothes. I really like her in pink. She still has no name, am I the worse doll owner or what?

This is the view from my bedroom, that tower in the background is the famous Porto Clérigos Tower. I really need to clean those windows but I love the effect the dust on the outside looks, its like snow. heh

And that's it, I hope you liked reading about my day. How was your day?
Lots of kisses with love,
JO

Latest Frill report

Hello everyone,

I have been a bit busy lately and end up not being able to post as much as i'd like here.

On the 4th of May there was a small event dedicated to Japanese culture in the nearby city of Vila Nova de Gaia. For the second year in a row, the Portuguese Lolita Community (egl portugal) has been present at the event with small contributions which match the size of the event. It's so a small event but at a fabulous place and it is always an honor for us to receive such invitations.
Last year there was a workshop, this year we set up an "introdution to lolita" room.

Group photo. I love this photo because everyone's laughing and nobody is paying attention to the photographer
I wore gothic lolita to match my friend kirarah who was in egl in the same colors.
Moitie dress, headdress, accessories, chantilly socks, juliette et justine bolero, etc

I love this shot first because my brother's in it but also because me and Ana are wearing the same sort of outfit without discussing what we'd wear.
It was a fun day but I admit I was very tired when it ended. I hope people got to know a bit more about the style and that more people will join as a result. That's why we do this afterall. <3

I haven't been able to buy things regularly anymore. Portugal is going through rough times now. But I am still receiving things I got the previous months and that I forgot to share.
I ordered the newest Gothic and Lolita Bible of course and I algo got another Muchacha mook. This bag is even wackier than the previous one.

On the 17th of May the Portuguese Lolita Community celebrated its 7th birthday. It is really a pleasure to see that all my hard work ended in a community that still is able to survive. We arranged for an online and offline meetup on the 19th and me and some girl gathered at my place where we had an afternoon snack, chatted online via webcam with the rest of the comm and also celebrated the soccer championship victory of our town's soccer team. It was a lot of fun.

This is what I wore. It's the second time I wear this dress. I wish it was a bit longer but i think its adorable anyway. Dress and bag are from Innocent World, bolero is Mary Magdalene, boots are Queen Bee and the rest is offbrand.

As for last buys, well these are a bit old but i ended up getting a dress i already owned back and an offbrand winter top that i won't be able to wear for months because summer is coming soon.

Btssb trianon chiffon op in white and offbrand velveteen red top with lace colar.

Lastly I was surprised with a package this last week. A former Portuguese lolita and friend sent me a couple of things she found in the back of her closet that fits the lolita look but doesn't quite fit her current style.
This is what the content had:
Shoe pink clip on bows, black clip on bows, a lovely letter, fake eyelashes, and some puffs.

She also sent a Fernando Pessoa postcard for my husband because he's the biggest Fernando Pessoa fan I have ever met. Actually he is the reason why he started learning Portuguese and why he ended up in Portugal hence the reason why we met. I owe him a lot. <3

And that's all that happened lolita-wise lately. I hope you enjoyed reading.
A big hug to all of you,
Jo

You got a pink dress?

Hello everyone, So this year I felt that i should get something for my own birthday so I got two pieces.

The first was a lucky find, i could have gotten it from the site but it would take a long time to get to me so i was happy to get it in europe for almost the same price as ordering it from the site. My first choice was the one with the white beads because I already own a blue stoned necklace from MmM but i'm just glad i could get my hands in any of them.
I also got a dress that is actually the first item in my online wishlist (meaning its been there the longest) which is something quite simple but that i liked a lot back then, a looong time ago. Back when everything i wore was fully shirred. I found it for an affordable price but it came without the detachable bow which made me sad, i have to say.

Anyway you're probably curious so here you go:

Moi-même-Moitié emblem necklace (blue)
Metamorphose temps de fille shirred floral jsk (pink)

Fast coordinate that now is being used as decoration in my bedroom. <3
I really like the coordinate, classic lolita really makes me happy so i'm looking forward to wearing it. If not as is then with some modifications. I know it won't look as nice on me as it does on the dressform but I'm still looking forward to it. I am also engaging on a trade, i'm sending one of my MmM for a recent Btssb release. I hope it still fits me, I am... getting bigger lately but i'm hopeful. I also hope i love it on me, i'd hate to lose a hard to get MmM dress for something that not only doesn't fit but also looks bad on me. Oh well I wanted a chance and i can't spend a lot of money on lolita so I decided to take a risk this time. It's coming from the USA via priority mail so i'm not sure when it'l arrive. I'll keep you posted. Hope you liked peaking at my (very rare) late purchases and that you like them as much as I do. Kisses, Jo
