Day2: Saturday the 2nd of July
After going to the stores in the morning we just rushed back to our hotel room and started getting dressed for the Btssb tea party. We had planned to go by metro but that was before encountering an event at AP that we weren't expecting. So basically we knew we were late and we asked the hotel to call a cab for us which they did.
We got complimented on by the hotel staff again haha and got into the cab. I hadn't been in Paris ever since I was a kid, in my form9 or so.. and Vania couldn't recognize the roads either so we were keeping our fingers crossed that the cab driver wasn't driving us around for extra bucks because we were really stressed out for being late. Vania said that these things never start on time but when we got there (10min late) nobody was at the door. We saw a gorgeous girl wearing the most incredible pirate outfit ever (even I would wear that and i'm not much keen on themed lolita) and went in with her.
When we got there the room was impressive!
The whole hotel was incredibly fancy, the room in particular with its rococo glorious details and golden wood finish. The tables were big and full and we had a very hard time in finding a place for us to sit together.
We saw friends but their tables were full already which sucked.
We sat with what i thought were french lolitas. I said "hi" but didn't get much of a reply and they didn't seem very interested in chatting with us either so we were terribly bored in the beginning. There were two perfectly dressed and classic lolita reminiscent asian girls on my right and they started chatting in chinese. I asked them if they could speak english too and they went balistics. "You can speak chinese!" they said. I nooded and finally we could chat a bit with someone at our table. They were really nice and when i happened to listen to what they were talking about (not like i could ignore since i was next to them haha) they seemed to be normal people which lets face it, its not necessarily 100% guaranteed when it comes to people who are into this sort of thing.
Before that I had heard my name from afar... it was Chrissi!
She is a girl I have known for a long long time and always loved. It felt so surreal to meet her there... to meet these people in flesh. It's always kind of scary too since you can disappoint them and vice-versa but nope, she is just as delightful offline as she always was online. I was completely in love in 1second. She introduced me to some of her friends which i knew from posting and reading online entries already (small world) and we took some shots together.
After a little bit someone announced that food was going to be served and I honestly must say that it was the first time I have ever seen a queue form so fast. What's up with lolitas and cake anyway? Or is it the "free food"? haha anyway that was amusing. Me and V stayed in our seats for a while waiting for the line to get smaller.
We quickly realised that it was not going to happen so we got a place in line too. I asked for chocolate cake and some ginger ale and V got the party btssb cake. The food was great even though i'm not that keen on sweets. V was so in love with that cake that she wanted to try all similar looking ones at pastry stores to find it again (to no avail). haha
After that there was a huge pause made for chatting and meeting other girls so it was the perfect time for me to escape for a smoke and a trip to the bathroom.
While in the bathroom, after well... doing my business (haha) i got out and Vania was making odd gestures and freaking out and i honestly wasn't understanding. Then, Misako Aoki got out of after doing her "stuff" (haha x2). I washed my hands and just looked at her (while Vania was joined by other statue girls freaking out (this is quite odd for me btw)) and decided to ask her directly if I had time to go out before whatever was going on next:
Me: Hello Misako-sama (felt appropriate to address her like a god because that's what other people do haha), nice to meet you.
Misako: Hello! Wow you speak japanese!
Me: A little, yes... I was wondering... is the actual event starting now or do i still have time? I really would like to go outside for a little bit.
Misako: Ah! I think there's still time, i'm actually going to do something before heading over to the tea party, so don't worry.
Me: Thank you so much, that's great! Also I have to say, you're adorable.
Misako: *smile* oh thank you so much!
Me: Ok, very nice to meet you again and thanks!
So me and Vania left and went for a smoke. When we came back the spanish girls were outside of the bathroom so we chatted a bit and took some pictures because that place was just gorgeous everywhere we went.
We saw Mr.Sawada and the translator who told us that the event was starting so we went back to the room.
While there they finally announced Misako and she made a small speech and informed us that to get a photo with her we'd have to buy her book (nice promo move there, Misako :P) so there was another line being formed and we stood on it for a while.
When we reached Misako, before she could even look at me I just said "Hi, long time no see" to which she laughed and since the translator didn't get anything and looked interested, Misako added "Yes we met earlier... in the bathroom *giggle*". The whole thing was a bit silly and funny, Misako seems to be a very down to earth lovely person which makes me happy since... well you never know. We talked a bit again, told her about where we were from, she took a photo with us and we left to give space for the next person in line.
After the book signing came the usual gift draft and the pick of the best coordinate. It is rather silly but since this whole thing is to promote the love for a brand it makes some sense. Of course both me and Vania wanted to win something as incentive to come again from so far away haha but we are so unlucky that we got zero. We weren't expecting to win best coordinate but were keeping our fingers crossed for something we could share. (i guess pretty much like everyone else there). I didn't really agree with the best coordinate pics but that part was interesting to watch too.
I had to take a picture with the gorgeous chinese table mates, they were really nice and looked amazing! I love that op print. <3
After that, the party was pretty much over, Misako invited us for a group picture and we were so many that we had to go to a separate room just for that.
I took the oportunity to take individual shots of my outfit because you should always do that, chat a bit more and say goodbye to some people.
This photo is impressive, no matter how many times I look at it I am still completely overwhelmed.
(I'm in the right area somewhere in the back, can you see me? It's like playing "where's Waldo" again)
After this we went out with our new spanish friends for some drinks and later headed over to our hotel, we were sooo tired. It was an incredible day and we felt very grateful to have met all these incredible people, especially the friends I always wanted to meet in flesh.
Thank you for the amazing time, girls. <3

As I already said, it was very nice to meet you.
ResponderEliminarI met Misako in the bathroom too and seeing me, just standing their and watching her must have looked really weirde. But I was just curious about her outfit and wanted to suck in every detail of it ^^
Oh and on the groupshot... I'm standing right in the middle, in the last row and all you can see is my headbow -.-
haha well you know the whole "freezing" over known people isn't really me and its hard for me to understand it to be honest. Poor Vania, i must have made fun of her swooning over maki, asuka and misako a thousand times. :P
ResponderEliminarI find it adorable though, some times I wish i was more like that too.
We should have stood in the front. I bet some people in the front have actually been to one of those once before... or they live there or something. We were a bit silly, we never think about those things do we? :P
We can learn from others, we need to be less relaxed I guess.
Thank you for the great time!
Estou com insónias, vim ler o resto :P
ResponderEliminarEsse sítio parece ser divino, adoro tanto decoração rococo!
Estavas linda naquele outfit também!
Espero daqui a uns anos participar numa coisa deste género, a group shot é de facto assustadora. No bom sentido :P
*sighs* What a wonderfull day!!! *__* The place was perfect and I bet that everyone were gorgeous. You and Lucy were really adorable and elegant! Thanks for sharing your memories!! <3
ResponderEliminar<3 Portuguese lolitas rock!!!! <3
*__*
Wow, the group picture is huge!
ResponderEliminarSo many lovely lolita's ^^
It looks amazing, and I liked your outfit ♥
I really love your outfit! I'm glad you had a great day with other lolitas and the group pic is sooo amazing!
ResponderEliminarYay I can comment after all...lol. The whole event looked absolutely fantastic, Misako seems a total sweetheart and omg the cake! Your coordinates look very lovely too! The hotel looked incredible, the decorations and furnishings are amazing. I would have absolutely loved to have gone but I can't speak french to save my life so I figured I shouldn't go because of that.
ResponderEliminarMay I ask (so I know if something like this happens again in the future) would it be ok for a non french speaker to have been there? Or would that be a total no go? Thanks ;D
MJ: Obrigada. Espero que sim, é um evento muito giro, especialmente se já tens bastantes amigos na net que vão lá estar. Caso contrário convém falar bem francês e Inglês e meter conversa com toda a gente. O que... pronto às vezes até parece melhor não ser feito.. :P
ResponderEliminarClaudia: Thank you, we hope we did actually really represent it well. <3
Niesje: I'm really glad you liked my outfit <3
Hyrule: Thank you for the comment. <3 I had a great time.
Torment: Yay, see? Told you so!
Well its like this, french people speak bad french for the most part and if you aren't going in a group and/or do not already meet people there, you might be bored if you can't communicate. Of course there are always foreigners so you can just communicate with those. Other than that, english is more than fine! You should have come!!!
That's an awesome place, i'm crazy for rococo XD you'r outfit look's awesome as usual ^^ hope you have enjoyed every single moment ^^ and had a nice trip (maybe one day i can go too :P )
Wow this post as so great! I enjoyed reading all the details~ Haha I love the Misako story, haha! When I met her, I was also happy about how down to earth and sweet she was. At the meet and greet here in NYC last year February, I drew her picture in a card of the outfit she'd been wearing the day before (for the Tokyo Fashion Festa fashion show that took place at my college~) and she recognized it and said in english "ooh, this was the outfit from yesterday!" and I nodded happily. I was so glad she realized and even said so in english too! Then I hugged her and we took a photo together~
ResponderEliminarI hope if she comes to NY, or I go elsewhere and see her again, I can speak to her in japanese :3 That would be cool.
Again, great post!! And you and your friends outfits are lovely~
A: Im so glad you liked it! I like adding details to my posts so people can feel as close as how i felt while there. So glad its not in vain, it'd be so much easier to just photo dump instead haha.
ResponderEliminarShe's a sweetheart, i think anyone would love meeting her.
Thank you, i'm glad i looked ok, those girls at the tea party were so gorgeous and young and had incredible outfits, I was completely overwhelmed. <3
