Nasty weather

Hello everyone,

This saturday I had 3 things scheduled: get fake nails (i started biting them again and this helps), have lunch with my familly and a casual lolita meeting in the afternoon.
I got my nails very short because it will help me resist wanting to bite them, yes i'll even bit the gel nails. I'm that addicted to bitting them. It's my most nasty habit, in the sense that it is really not rational and I cannot simply stop.
I was going for black or red but I got convinced to go for a lovely dark plum tone instead. I like it.
We said goodbye to everyone and headed to the restaurant. On the way we saw just how the weather is terrible and scary at the moment, this is what the Portuguese coastline looks like now, actually today its worse and nobody can circulate in the area due to the danger. The sea is scary, one should respect nature.
all that foam...
Instead of going for sushi again we went to another one of our favoritesPortvgália. My husband loves the steaks there so he ordered steak. As for Mari we just got her rice, some vegetables and an egg and mixed everything together in order for her to have a healthy meal. She likes eating alone now and will often start misbehaving if we say no. This results in a lot of food on the floor and her getting herself dirty too which isn't the best but it is good that she is getting better in eating on her own.
I didn't feel like having steak, instead I took the opportunity to eat something I really love and haven't been able to eat for a long time, the typical Oporto "sandwich", Francesinha. When its well made its awesome even though after you always feel like you aren't going to eat another one any time soon, its very heavy and totally not the healthiest thing ever. It was not great but it was ok and it was really what I wanted.
Francesinha: two slices of thick bread, steak, ham, chouriço, etc covered in a lot of cheese, a pickle and spicy special beer sauce, Oh and it comes with fried potatoes that we dip in the sauce.
I started getting ready for the meeting and when I came downstairs I realized I was more than an hour late to it and that I also wasn't digging my hair (wig) so I gave it a cut and braided it. I like it more now. This means that for the first time I wore a wig so much that it really is close to not be wearable now. It used to be my favorite wig, it is from cyperous. I must buy new black and brown wigs soon.

I wanted to wear my MmM scallop lace op but I saw this one and since its velvet and its so cold i figured i should take this opportunity to wear my velvet dresses before summer comes along. Since the wig has a cute cut i figured a cute bow would be a good pick and then since it was a casual meeting i went with simple socks and shoes.

So I just stayed home (my husband was going to leave in 1 hour and something for a dinner and I would have to be home with my daughter so it made no sense to go. I was a bit sad i missed the meeting but happy I was still wearing something nice. I posted on my facebook that I'd like to chat and sent the Lacebook chatroom link and soon I had the company of three of the most amazing ladies on earth, my friend Lessie, the adorable Azu from nearby Spain and Josine who is very inspiring. I ended up chatting with them the whole end of afternoon and Azu actually stayed for the entire time. I got to know them better and I hope people will join in more often.
So basically I ended up having a lolita meeting afterall! I even drank tea in one of my favorite cups and used my webcam which has been in some corner for the longest time.

I had a fantastic day. I had so much fun and felt to nice the whole day that I actually went to bed early for a saturday. I'll explain: when i'm not satisfied with how my day went i want to go out at night or stay up very late to "make up for the lost time". There was none this time.

I hope you liked reading about my day. I hope I'll have something to post about today even though i'll be cleaning most of the day. <3

Jo

I love that color combo too but i didn't really use to like it much before, i thought it was tacky.

  4. Hello there:

This is Violette, one of the girls from the Spanish/Galician community.
I read on FB you have a blog and I thought it was worthy to have a look and I totally love it :) I can totally see your point about meetups: as long as I am living abroad now, I don´t have the chance to meet other girls often (and even so I don´t always have real time for it, as you said), but I find lovely you had the chance to make a chat via Lacebook. I am friends with Azu and I love the way she can have a talk for hours :)

I think I am gonna register on Lacebook too, I think it´s a wonderful idea as a matter of fact!

    Lots of love from Bucharest.

    Violette B.

    1. Hello Violette, nice to meet you! I love your community, i always try to go there once or twice a year to hang out with the galician girls. ^_^;
I am glad you like my blog, its raw and honest and just about my normal life. <3
I'm not sure you can register on lacebook at the moment but ask Azu to help you, maybe they'll re add people soon!

Very nice to meet you, Bucharest seems like an amazing place!

  5. Wow the sea does indeed look scary! Usually is there a beach near you where you can swim/hang out? Tourists usually go to Portugal for the sun and sand, is it a big part of life for the locals too?

It's so interesting to see traditional Portuguese food as well, I never heard of that type of sandwich before.

And the wig, it's lovely. Cyperous is my favourite brand, I think it is the most realistic and never gives a fake shine in photos.

    1. It did and today its worse for sure. There's a ton of beaches everywhere where i could swim but i'm not a fan of swimming in the sea to be honest, i'm a pool person myself plus its the Atlantic, its coooold. Usually when tourists visit for the sand and whatnot they are referring to the Algarve region, the south of Portugal where the sea is almost the mediterranian. Water is a bit warmer there.

I really like cyperous wigs, every time i go to japan i visit their store and get one or two wigs. I want to visit prisilla this time too though, i really want some of their pigtails... i want the doll look so bad! My wigs are all kind of normal and i cannot style them so i do not end up having that look that i'd like to have.

Thank you so much for commenting, I appreciate it!

I also really like your outfit, especially because of the wonderfully matching tights. And the wig looks wonderful on you.

  7. I tend to wear my favourite wigs pretty often so the ones I like the most are really nearly dead. I cut them already but I guess I need new ones. When it comes to wigs, I go for Prisila. Their colors and style are just perfect to me.
I will visit Japan for the first time in my life this year and i'm really looking forward to buy new wigs.

Your outfit is lovely. I really like how the headbow turns this dark outfit in something cute. Very nice!

    1. I have never gotten a prisilla wig but i saw the cutest hair falls in their maruione shop. I thought they were a bit expensive so i didn't get them but i regret it. Maybe i'll find something like that when i visit this summer. When are you going?
