How have you all been? As usual i've been very busy at work and my blog ends up suffering.
Anyway last weekend I went to the capital city to watch the Cirque du Soleil and their new show Dralion. I have a friend who always watches their shows, she goes to the capital city on purpose every year to watch them. She invited me and my husband told me I should go to relax a bit from the stress i've been in lately.
So I woke very early that day and finally met up with her and there we went. I was obviously very sleepy so I slept a bit during the 3 hour car ride but it was a great ride anyway.
We got there early so we decided to visit some places before the show that would take place in the afternoon.
We decided to go visit the stunning Palácio de Queluz (in Queluz)
The outside was also stunning but less well kept unfortunately. The gardens were stunning!
As you can see I took one of my new girls with me. She still does not have a name! She was so pretty and fits so perfectly with the scenery! I wish i had worn lolita too but i plan on going again and doing so. It's gorgeous, like our Versailles except everyone treated us well there even when one of us was lying on the floor to get nice shots of a doll! How cool is that?
You can read a bit more about this palace by visiting the oficial webpage - link
Well the next stop was the western point of Europe, our very own Cabo da Roca (link)
After this we went to Lisbon (the portuguese capital city) where we were going to stay. Our hotel wasn't fancy or anything but it was very central and it had free parking which was the most important detail. The Hotel Nacional was located in a shopping street, super clean and calm area. I really enjoyed staying there.
We left the car and went by subway to the place where the show was taking place, Meo Arena. We got our tickets seperately so we got in through different doors. I sat right on the second row, right side of the stage. I really loved the show, especially the music to be honest, it was great. The clothes are amazing and the show itself is out of this world. I really recommend that everyone watches it at least once. It was not cheap but it was worth it.
After the show we got back to the hotel, we were super tired, we went to the nearby macdonalds, got something to eat (I had gotten soup because i was ill) and then went to bed.
The next day we went to Sintra (link), which is a very romantic place. You have to go there if you come over. The scenery is super special and there are incredible things waiting to be visited.
We went to one of the most famous places there, Quinta da Regaleira. I had visited when i was still in high school but i loved seeing it all again. The whole air of the place and that connection with god knows what (occult?) just goes right up my alley. I was impressed with the house! I could literally move there right now, its less humid than my own place which sucks in that department.
It started raining a bit but we still had a place to go to, Palácio de Monserrate. Apparently it was under some kind of repairment project for a while and was "recently" opened again so I was excited. It was great, looked like nothing i had seen before. The tour was given by some sort of new high tech gadget where you would talk to hollograms and use computers but i did not like it at all.
Eventually it started raining a lot so we left in a hurry and couldn't see the gardens which is a shame.
After that we just had lunch and came back to Porto. It was a fantastic weekend! I can't wait to go on a trip with my friend again!
Hope you fell in love with the photos and will visit my country soon!
Love,
Jo

EliminarPortugal is really beautiful! I should definitely visit it.
ResponderEliminarYour doll really seems to belong to that place. She matches the scenery just perfect. So probably a name related to that place would be lovely.
hummm not really sure how i can name her using that idea but i'm going to research :D I really loved that place. Hope one day i can go back but wearing lolita. If you ever come and visit do let me know, i'd love to give you a tour around.
