On the 7th day, again, I stayed home all morning so my husband could work on his thesis. So I woke up and had breakfast (something a bit more continental this time) and spent some time with the familly members that were not as busy: Mari and my inlaws (and occasionally their huge lovable cat, Mi)
I apparently only had a toast with butter and a glass of 100% orange juice.
So I cleaned up the room as usual and vaccum cleaned some more. That's what our room looks like when everything is more or less tidy.
Mari kept busy by emptying a box of paper tissues. We made a video of it she looks adorable untill the end when she starts eating the tissues. Bad Mari.
If you do not know, curry is even better the next day! So we had the leftover curry. :D
We left with Mari for the station, since it was still day time she took a little hat to protect her from the sun.
We arrived at Namba and my husband left us and said he'd be back soon, he had to go do something at his japanese bank. So we waited here and I took these photos.
Look! It's that building i took photos of in one of my trips to japan. heh Still waiting...
and waited some more. I got a little bit fed up but there was nothing that can be done but wait. haha
When my husband arrived i just said "I'm not upset but please take her for a while!" hahaha
We had scheduled to go somewhere at 7.15h but it was about 6.30 so we took a walk in the Namba underground mall.
I got some gifts for my friends... bough some magazines for myself and looked around.
I found this charming tea house... it looks like something out of a book, or from another country. It's def. not japanese looking and we do not have this sort of thing in Portugal so...
This statue was a sort of ball labyrinth. I filmed the circuit but i'm not gonna waist bandwith posting that here. It was pretty cool though and everytime a ball fell it made a sound and it was, with that system, playing music!
We decided instead of having a late dinner we should just eat then so we looked for restaurants. My huband wanted to have ramen (again) but there was an udon one right next to it and he went with it to please me.
In the end it ended up being a good call because Mari had some too.
I love how they always bring table wear and seats for kids without us even asking. This is what i call service! For Mari to eat udon i cut it realy small and she apparently now is a fan.
This is mine, i picked a summer special udon and it also came with inarizushi (稲荷寿司) which is a ball of rice covered by fried tofu. It's good.
We got double the average amount of udon that day because apparently they had won an award and if you said a catch phrase congratulating them for it they would bring you an extra serving for free, how odd is that?
There were so many cute items in this store, i thought my friends vania, susaninha and fla would like it especially. I did too and my husband wanted me to get that cat bag but i think i should just save my money for lolita stores for now and then go back in the end to regular stores.
It was time and so we went outside to the designated place. I spotted my sister in law before my husband did haha! There she was smiley and lovely as usual and i finally got to understand that the person who she married was a musician we had met before at one of her live acts. My husband did not know either, it was kind of funny!
They are, of course, the perfect match!
So why did we meet there? Well apparently people (even if against the law? - only saying this because at some point a policeman came over and told them to "knock it off!") go there and perform their songs for different reasons, to be known, the spread some message, to enjoy themselves. So does Yoko and her friends.
All the people performing that night, all are her friends.
So we spent the rest of the evening watching and listening to them and their messages which were very different from one another. Mari liked it, slept a bit and met some strange people.
One of these people asked my husband if i was russian (what?) and after being told I was portuguese and that was our daugher he said "oh so your baby is an half baby (which means half japanese, half something else) and then followed with an "Yokatta ne!?" which is ridiculous and very funny. What? :P
I really liked the sky that night, cities look so different in different light and atmospheres don't they?
After some hours Mari started to get hungry and it was getting late so we finally said goodbye and left.
We made the mistake of trying to get to the JR station in Namba from the outside and obviously got a bit lost and ended up having to go back to where we started haha but saw some things some people who read this might like:
Game Taito Station and Sega arcade as well. I know my brother would like to go in one of these, i never did even though i've seen a few. Bad bad non gamer jo. :P
When we got to the station there were a couple of aquariums and those made Mari a bit more cheerful, enough to get her to be quiet for most of the ride home.
Since we had an early dinner my mother in law made us some last minute onigiri which we appreciated dearly!
This is what I bought that day (totally over-spent on magazines and mooks):
- Last gothic and lolita bible
- Last kera
- Jane Marple 2013 Summer collection mook
The bag that came as a gift with the Jane Marple mook, not my usual style but i'm going to wear it soon i'm sure!
And that was my day! I hope you liked reading about it. And as promised here's the second buy from the shopping trip in Shinsaibashi:
Angelic Pretty Eternal Rose Bouquet jsk + socks set (ivory)
Kisses,
Jo

Hahah I've been asked if I'm Russian too when I was out with my husband, he says it could be because most Westerners that marry Chinese men are Russian. But dunno about Japan!
ResponderEliminarAlso, that tea house reminds me of one I've seen in Flushing (the biggest "Chinatown" in NYC), it looked really European but I've never seen any like it anywhere in Europe before!
You know? My husband said the same thing. I remember when i was in china most foreign girls admited they do not find asian men attractive and so would not consider dating them. I was kind of shocked because to me men are men and I would not consider race as requirement or negative factor. meh. Maybe russian women are different? I really do not know.
EliminarMaybe someone else who's reading can help us understand this better.
Oh I see. It's a shame though, when i saw it i imagined a group of lolita girls having tea, its so cute. I wouldn't mind having something like this in Portugal as a hangout spot hehe.
Kisses my dearest Irene
Haha, what a nice store! "Kiitos" means "thank you" in finnish. :D I've also seen a store called "ehkä söpö" in Tokyo, which means "maybe cute" XD What's up with japanese stores with finnish names...
ResponderEliminarAnd oh my, I want that pink/silver cat face bag so bad! ;_; It's so cute. Love at first sight! I was tempted to buy a black one when I was in Japan, but I never bought one. I would immediately have bought a pink one, if there would have been one at the time.
That dress is gorgeous! Can't wait to see outfits by you with it. :3
Ha, i knew i had heard that before! How odd, well i guess they are tired of english, french, german and moving onto other languages. I'd think it was super funny if i just found a store called "obrigado" here too.
EliminarThat bag is sooo cute, i'm not into cute things for myself (love owning them and looking at them but do not use them on a regular basis if they are clothes) but i kinda wanted one too!
Thank you so much for the comment! I love your blog so this made me happy. <3
Beijocas luna
Miss fla in the house! xD
ResponderEliminarExcuse me for not having commented the other posts from other days (bad me bad me i always read your posts in my phone, and I think when I get home i'll comment!! But i have been sick and super tired from work so i end up falling asleep)
Awn Mari is increasingly adorable, even the massacre of the paper box looks lovely!
I'd like to try Japanese curry, unfortunately, and oddly enough I have never eaten hahaha.
Namba seems to me to be a very nice area from what i see in the photos you put here n_n i would love to go to that tea house in your photo, of course i would ask my mint tea and make drama if there was no mint tea like i did in the last winter loliday (i do not know if you remember).
I think it's lovely that in all the restaurants that you have gone there they always have a dish set for kids!(and cute one)Portugal restaurants should also have it!
Own thanks for the photo store for me jo, I like a lot of bags in there, and of course in expecial the pink cat one that is looking at me <3
Your sister in law seems to be super friendly and her husband also ^-^ look how cute their picture and mari is! In fact your whole family seems to me kind and friendly! I'm
Oh how jealous i am of your buys, that dress is gorgeous and the print is beautiful and I bet you will look beautiful in it!
(Uff long answer)
Thanks for the post and many hugs;
Fla
I always think of you when i see something pink, you and susaninha, how could I not?
Eliminarhaha i remember, not drama but kid like pouting which is adorable!
They are all fantastic. They kinda look like mari's parents in that photo which scares me. Sometimes even thought she was born in portugal and is partially portuguese i still feel like i'm the only outsider and that's kind of lonely. I have no right to feel this way though.
haha thank you, i guess this one really is the only thing that kinda resembles your style so I understand. I love florals so i fell in love with this really fast. I don't regret getting this set.
Love always, Jo
Your new dress is amazing. Really elegant and so beautiful.
ResponderEliminarYour daughter is really cute. *w*

aww thank you so much for the super friendly comment, i really appreciate it! Kisses shiki
EliminarI think Mari is so adorable! I just want to hug her! <3
ResponderEliminarThat tea house is so cute! It looks like it came from a book indeed!
Whaaah, those cat bags are so cute!
Eternal Rose Bouquet! That dress is to die for, sooo pretty! I can’t wait to see you wear it! =D
Bisous, xxx
Rosalynn
P.S.: I also commented on your previous post! I try to comment more on the blogs I read, as you might have noticed. XD
Aww she likes hugs so you are free to do so if you ever meet her. <3
EliminarIt does, like a fairytale, right? I should have gotten in. It would be so much nicer in the winter in lolita...
Thank you! Both for commenting and for liking my new dress. I really cannot wait to wear all these things, i feel i now own too many things for the time i have to wear lolita but owning them makes me happy i suppose...
A big kiss!
Awww Mari is growing cuter every day!!! She's so nice and likes all sorts of food, not a picky eater like my children hehe! Yesterday I went to a seafood restaurant and while I was eating large grilled shrimps and other delicious stuff, they went for the pork steaks! *sigh*
ResponderEliminarThe Kiitos store is adorable (awww the cat bags!!!), I begin to wonder how my bank account would be if we had stores like that in Portugal...
It's funny how people abroad usually don't have a clue we're Portuguese. If you go to Spain you become italian, if you're on Italy you'll become Spanish and in Japan, you're russian hehe. Gosh how I'd love to be such a "russian" now"! ^_^
Needless to say that I'm completely in love with the dress and socks you bought, they are absolutely adorable and you'll get to love them even if they're not 100% your style (I know this is a biased opinion hehe).
Love, Su
aww she is getting really cute, i now see photos of her as a baby and tell everyone she used to look like a little monkey haha.
EliminarShe eats anything now but might change in the future, how were your kids as babies?
I think he assumed i'm russian because its typical for russian women to want to marry japanese men, they claim that they are more educated, polite, respectful and do not get as fat when older as russian men do. I find that a bit... insulting towards russian men but then again i have no idea of the truth, i just do not enjoy generalizations. :P
Yeah that dress is a crowd pleaser; great for those who both love really sweet and elegant classic things too. <3
Oh man, I have a lot of catching up to do on your blog! xD Had a couple of cons to go to so it's time to get back into the swing of things~
ResponderEliminarlol! Why do babies always have to try to eat everything? It's so cute but so funny!
And I have to say, that curry looks amazing!~
That tea shop looks like something out of a Studio Ghibli film xD
Aw, too cute! I didn't know restaurants do that without asking! That really is good service! And that inarizushi looks so good! I never had it but you make me wanna eat some now xD
And your sister-in-law sounds so cool! I'm glad you all had a great time!
OMG GAME TAITO AND SEGA! I am dying to go there!
And that JSK is absolutely gorgeous! Very classic and feminine! <3
Kieli~♥
haha I'm not much of a gamer but i do understand the appeal.
EliminarThat tea shop does look like something of the sort, you are right! I didn't think about that.
I love that dress, i really cannot wait to wear it and i hope i do it justice. <3
I already miss japan's service. I took some things for granted...
My familly is amazing, everyone is super nice so i feel blessed.
<3
