40, future

Hello again,

My daughter was born on the 40th week, on the 11th. I was planning on wearing lolita at least once that week but never ended up doing so. I did choose something that seemed comfortable enough. I took a shot on the manequin. To be honest i wasn't feeling very eager to get out of the house let alone wear lolita at that time but I wanted to make an effort.

H&M hat, Primark shirt, Meta jsk, Miho Matsuda necklace, Chinese store tights and C&A boots.

I planned a normal delivery but after going into labor for 6 hours straight and then finally dozing off with the most blessed epidural shot (seriously if you are still not sure on this, i advise you to take it! It is bliss.) the doctor came in and dropped the bomb: your daughter is tangled in the cord so we need to take her out as soon as possible. And that's how i ended up having to do a c-section.
All went well but it was scary and it's taking a long time to recover. I feel even less inclined to wear lolita now that i was before.

Even though the will to wear lolita is not close to 0 I still bought some things this month. I totally overspent on socks. With the $ I spent on socks i could have gotten a new dress second hand. It's kinda silly when i think about it but gosh i love socks...

The first pair I ordered with a shopping service. I figured getting these in green would be interesting even though i think i should spend in patterned socks instead. I love the lace on Moitié socks though, its the best lace ever.

Even though i own some Moi-même-Moitié's items it was the first time I have ever received anything so nicely wrapped. I love it!

My friend lucythewhite went to the Juliette et Justine event in London where they prereleseased their new stocking line. She got a pair of the classic looking ones and a pair of the cream/salmon pink cross stockings.
As she knows i love them and j+j in general she decided to let me have them. She also helped me order an extra pair. I went with the green because i thought it would be a different shade, like petrol green/blue, but they ended up being forest green.

Strangely the ivory/salmon pair does not have the paiting prints on the top as the new release ones. Also i will never get why they put those in an area that will not be seen! They have such amazing details, i would love it if they were printed all over the tights instead.

I also got these affordable (a bit beat up) Innocent World shoes. They were size L so i thought they'd fit me well. But nope, this is how i found out that I wear Iw size LL. :|

Anyway enough about shopping. Our community theme last week were hats. This week's theme are skirts.

Regarding hats. I must admit i love hats, especially the type that isn't wearable daily or confortable at all. My favorite sort are full sized and bonnets. As for casual days I prefer berets.
I hardly ever sell any hats but when i can find new hats I do get them. I tend to fall for hats very easily.
My favorite lolita hats come from Triple Fortune (god knows for how long i've been wanting one of their bonnets) and btssb. The style of hat i like the most are classic related but I also drool over original gothic hats.

As for skirts its quite the opposite. When i started wearing lolita I remember reading that skirts + shirts combo flattered plus sized girls and then after trying it out i discovered that it is quite the opposite. In fact finding shirts that flatter plus sized girls is so difficult that i cannot imagine how a skirt + shirt combo is even possible. :|

My torso is pretty much a rectangle so skirts + shirts make me very unconfortable. I have owned some skirts but ended up selling all of them. The only skirts I own today are skirts I use as petticoats or underskirts.

So this week's theme entry was pretty boring.

All my skirts: victorian maiden underskirts and a h.NAOTO skirt that i use as a petti. 

I recently joined a facebook called Lolita Blog Carnival which seems like a pretty nice group to be a part of. They give us themes so we can always have something to post about on our blogs. I don't think i'll be able to participate in all or even most of them but I plan to do so from time to time.
