International Lolita Day Summer 2012

So how was your Loliday?
I traveled south to our country's capital city to meetup with the local lolitas. In the end some girls went from the north so it ended up being split between south and north lolitas. It is when you see these that you realise just how small the Portuguese lolita scene is.
Anyway it was a national meeting and it went really well. I had a blast and so did everyone else apparently. Good company, weird chatting and super caloric food, nothing could go wrong with such a recipe.

The weather wasn't great though and it actually rained. I wondered why on earth did I decide to wear a fully ivory outfit but those shoes are so confortable that i just felt like doing so even though it was nuts.

We started out going to an american style dinner and eating burgers and drinking milkshakes. I loved that place, i really want to go back some day. We don't have anything like it here in Oporto.

What I was wearing: MmM ritual jsk, MmM socks, ETC shoes, primark headband and shirt and  a victorian maiden corsage.
Part of the group eating and chatting. Some new members came too which is always amazing! I love meeting people who are into lolita, its rare over here. <3
And the group shot. We all look very happy, right?
After that we went to a sort of fair called Festa do Japão. It wasn't particularly interesting but some of the girls took that oportunity to meet up with fellow aquaitances. After hanging out there for a while we finally went to grab a bite somewhere and chatted for a looong time after that. The day ended at around 10pm and we said our goodbyes. It really was a full day.

The next day i woke up really early. I woke up so early that it gave me time to finish the book i took with me as well as take shots of Lucy White's yukata outfit. She was supposed to visit the fair too but i opted not to take her due to the bad weather conditions. I love her, she is my favorite blythe.

Lucy White in her travel stand and cute yukata set. I braided her hair and added those accessories to match the yukata colors. Doesn't she look cute?

Beautiful girl, I picked her name well ;P
The next day we woke up and headed over downtown. We took our suitcases with us and had coffee at Starbucks.
We then went to a local chinese store and bought some things. I got two wigs and two matching hair bows for my Angelic Pretty Sugar Pansy.

Mint hair bows. Satin but adorable and a good size too. <3

We then went to Oriente where we encountered very rude foreigners at lunch time haha and then finally got in our train back home. We were so tired! but we got home safe and with a smile on our faces.

Well that was it, hope you enjoyed reading about my loliday. I'd like to hear all about yours too!

Love,
Jo

    1. You should have been there, it was a lot of fun! I'm not sure when i'll be going to Lisbon again, but if you ever come over to Porto let us know and maybe we can set up a meeting just for you. <3
Thank you for commenting, i really do dislike it when people read regularly and never comment, it makes them look like stalkers or some creepy sort of people haha.
      A big kiss! Jo

  3. Looks like a lot of fun! :D I love your outfit.

The international loliday always happens to be when the school's end in Finland so no-one ever has time to meet up because of graduation stuff and such. :(

    1. Oh i don't rememeber it from any meeting photos but you know how my memory sucks haha I loved that place, i think if i lived in lisbon i'd have to visit it regularly even though the food is so bad for you.

I wish i could go back and dye my hair in all the colors i felt like it... but now i'm all grown up and i can't play around anymore, gotta be all serious and stuff. Kinda sucks. :P

I'm really happy with those wigs, they cost around 10 euros each, its crazy!

Kisses dear chérie, thanks for stopping by!

  5. You looked beautiful! Our Polish lolita scene is also very small :( Propably smaller than Portuguese. On Loliday I wasn't even wearing lolita, because I had examination session (I don't even know if I can call it like this in English :P) during that time, so we (me and local lolitas) didn't plan any meeting.
Also - following you, lovely blog~

    1. Wow even smaller? That's incredible! Well we do have a community, its very organized and well managed for many years. It takes a lot of my time, patience and effort so it might be one of the reasons why the community doesn't end up dying. At least i like to think so.
I'm sorry you didn't get to celebrate it properly but loliday is every day so just celebrate tomorrow instead.
I'm glad you like my blog enough to follow it. <3

  6. You looked wonderfull in a shiro outfit ♥
When I wear a complete white lolita outfit, I never feel like I can relax, because I'm constantly worrying about it getting dirty :p Which is a pity.

Your Lucy looks very adorable with that yukata on, and I really like that braid in her hair, so cute ♥

    1. Thank you, you're always so nice! I'm not sure its shiro since its 100% off white but its all light true. haha I finally found someone who feels the same about white or light colored outfits. It's so nerve wrecking!
It's the first time i change her hairdo. I think it looks nice too :D
