getting together

One of the most important aspects of being lolita is meeting up with fellow lolita fans.

Unfortunately my country is rather small and, although I've been fighting hard to promote the style here for more than 4 years, scheduling a meeting is sometimes a very depressing experience. We tend to (due to all the information coming from gatherings happening around the globe) get depressed over the size of the fandom in our country as opposed to that of other close by countries.
Still! There is something to be proud of here, we may be only a dozen but everyone does put some effort into their outfits and how they look and overall we're a very decently dressed group of lolitas especially when you consider factors such as economy related factors and fear of buying online amongst other things.
Don't forget, Portugal is one of the ends of the european continent.

Anyway we have two main sections right now: north (OPorto) and south (Lisbon) which are 300km apart give or take. Around three times a year i go there to take part in their activities and some of them also visit us here and give us the same kind of support.
This weekend (sunday, aka tomorrow) there are 3 girls coming from Lisbon to mingle with us in a lolita related meetup.
What happens during a lolita meetup? We're normal people so we do the same thing anyone else does when they meet with friends: chat, exchange knowledge, have tea and cookies (or a beer and a smoke in my case) and, and only because these outfits are absolutely stunning and do deserve it, take pictures.

We'll go visit a museum this time and then have a sort of picnic at a local garden.

I usually do not plan outfits in advance except for very rare occasions. The last time was when I went to Lisbon to watch Kokusyoku Sumire at Museu do Oriente on the 1st of May. But I recently got my hands on a dream dress of mine and it was the first time ever i could buy a dream dress that actually just came out and it's a special limited edition so i feel very lucky. This is not going to be a fabulous coordinate because i can't buy anything to make it as fabulous as it deserves to be but people have been asking me to take pictures in it and I figure I should just wear it asap then.
So you'll have the first peek on what i'm wearing tomorrow, my fellow meeting companions do not know so pssssshhhhh, don't tell them.

Divine Cross jumperskirt (special Sendai edition) & bow from the japanese brand Moi-même-Moitié (which is my favorite brand of them all)

I think this is stunning, i adore this dress, i just hope I do it justice.
I'm still unsure of which bag i like the best and the bag charm is detachable so i can use it on any of the two. What do you think?

Anyway it's enough for today, i hope you enjoyed this post.
Love,
Jo

  1. I'd wear the small bag to avoid covering the awesome dress!

  2. Thank you for the comment Ana!
I think its a hard decision because one is too small and the other one too big. I wish there was one in between with the wing cross elements of the big one though XD

  4. That dress is amazing! Once you use it you have to post some pics. And yes, I agree with Ana, the small bag would look better.
