Japan 2015 Haul Post

Hello!

As you might have noticed I will not be posting other entries about my trip this year. I don't feel like it to be honest but I am still going to post my trip haul. I bought a bit too much again this year and will now be saving to pay off my extravagant buys for a couple of months haha but its always worth it, shopping in Japan is a lot of fun!

The photos are a bit small but if you click on them you should be able to see things a bit better.
These are all the lolita related purchases. In total I bought 5 dresses, 1 used and the other 4 new.
I cannot post individual photos of everything so if there's anything you'd like to see please comment below!
This is all the makeup/beauty related products I got during this trip. I even got these cute plastic containers to put in my room because they were too lovely to pass on,

And these are mostly stationary items, a couple I got from liemzie too (thank you) and of course the rilakkuma x hankyu plushie is not stationary, his job is to look cute and gather dust. :X
I buy a bit of this stuff there because I LOVE penpaling. I don't write a lot of letters unfortunately but I like being prepared. I don't collect these although i wish i could (who has space for that), I really use them.
Lastly these are my doll related buys this time. I did not visit any doll stores unfortunately so I just got a magazine and a couple rement items because they are adorable. My BJDs got nothing this time.

And other than that we also bought a ton of food. Now I am poor, again. haha
I hope you liked reading about my shoppaholic side :|
I love this sort of post I must admit, looking at what other people buy is a sort of sadistic hobby.
Love always,
Jo

Opposite poles

Hello again!
Today there was a japanese culture tiny convention happening in my town and, like last year, the portuguese lolita community was invited to participate in some way. I was the one in charge of these things before but I have left my position as administrator and am now just a normal user of the comm. So the girls in charge organized something and a couple of ladies participated as models.

Because I did not want to attend this time I posted telling everyone who did not go that we should wear lolita and post an outfit in order to show support. This is the outfit I chose.

I absolutely love these colors and I adore this dress but unfortunately I hate the way the waist belt looks on my wide and long body and so all the photos that i find decent are all of me covering that area with my arms. I think I might have to sell this dress soon, it makes no sense to keep something I find doesn't look ok on. But selling will break my heart.

Outfit info:
Bonnet - Triple Fortune
Shirt - Mille Fleurs
Onepiece - Atelier Pierrot
Socks - Offbrand
Shoes - Offbrand (Primark)
Underskirt - Victorian Maiden

I cannot wait to see the fashion show outfits and video. I hope everything went well.

Love,
Jo

La Vie en Rose Haul

Hello again,

This is a very fast post and sort of pointless but I hope you don't agree. Obviously when someone goes to a big event like LVER bringing something back is inevitable. Although I did not have the chance to browse everything as well as I should have I did still buy a couple of things.

All ateendees got a LVER tote bag with contents which depended on the sort of ticket one had gotten. I got the VIP ticket and it included:
A pink tote bag with this year's logo in gold. I think its adorable!
A big satin clip bow
The lver pin
A pack of rose flavored goodies
a ton of business cards, flyers (one of them made just for the event) and stationary.

1. Extra flyers and cards, including the catalogue for triple fortune signed by Babi and Kaie.
2. This is what i got sunday for the tea party. It is a set of adorable stickers from btssb. You can actually buy them online from the site now.

Black x blue triple fortune bonnet
2 Axes femme shirts
1 rosary necklace (moss marchen)
1 corsage (for the people working at lver, chose the one to match my shirt)
1 lovely indies brand half size hat (owloli)
1 pair of bat shaped pins in black/blue (fidel david)
1 necklace (Ergi - chocomint) [a lovely present from Ada!]
1 hankey [a lovely present from Kyra]
1 duck keychain [a present from Veronica - It was so good to meet you!]

And that was it, I wore the bat things in Paris but everything is still unworn. I actually took the shirts from the plastic this weekend, can you imagine?

I hope you liked peeking into what i got at the event.
Love,
Jo

Paris - La Vie en Rose - Part Two

                                                 Saturday, the 21th February

I woke up very early, knowing what to wear makes it easier but I totally thought i'd have more time because I ended up having to leave the house with no makeup on. I put my hat in a bag, gathered all the makeup stuff and left the house on my own because my schedule was different from that of the regular atendees.

I arrived at the venue right on time which was good. The minute I got there I left my things in the storage room and just started working.

The first thing to do was to take all the sales stall boxes downstairs so i decided I should take my shoes off and just went on barefoot which was somewhat strange i suppose. It made it easier for me and made me work faster. After that we then started putting all the merchandise on the tables. I helped with the japanese indies brand's stall but since there were already people there someone asked me to get the triple fortune boxes too. I ended up placing tf articles up for sale (omg those bonnets all went through my hands hehe). Fortunately I had help and soon we had finished. Me and Vief who also had had no time to put makeup on, managed to have some time to go back to the stock room and finally get ready.

We sat there for a while and got ready, Vief helped me with the lashes because I am terrible with that sort of stuff (but I managed to put them on!) and then we left. My last official job before the opening was to great the guests at the entrance and to ask them to separate into 2 rows, the VIP and Valentines.

And the game was on, suddently guests were finally checking in and LVER started. <3

First batch of guests! I took this photo right when i left the entrance after separating the lines. These are the first guests for LVER.

Once guests went down there would be two desks for ticket control. In this room there were 4 stalls in the 4 corners, Syrup, Btssb, Triple Fortune and Grimoire. There was also the place to leave guest belongings and the buffet area.

That is where the triple fortune stall was, it seemed as if everyone just rushed to it first in fear that the bonnets would not be enough. Triple Fortune made a LOT of bonnets though so in the end everyone who wanted one had the chance to get one, unless they wanted a specific color.

Some of the beautiful outfits in LVER, everyone looked so amazing, it was a bit overwhelming!

This is part of the select shop stall.

And this is one of the best bits of the trip for me, Moss Marchen. I have always known Martha online and we only met now and I love her, she is (I dare to say) someone i can clearly see me befriend if only i had been lucky to live close to her. I think she is awesome in every way possible. Her items are also perfection and I wanted everything. <3

And every time I see Fidel David in an event it makes me happy. He is a really nice person and his creations are incredible.

Grimoire Stall. I honestly had almost no time to check things, I found myself to be like a little lost busy bee this year, I think it was the year in which I had less time for myself.

The adorable Syrup stall, look at all the girly adorable accessories! I later regretted not having had the time to check everything carefully. I love what my friends got from the stall.

This is the outfit I chose for this day. I knew I'd have to move around a lot and work so I chose one of my newest dresses. I always wanted an Enchantilic Enchantilly dress because I love the fabric choice, the themes and also i love how fairy tale everything looks but when i tried it on I understood that having a designer/owner who isn't petite is a plus. The way this dress is cut shows that she understands the need for confort and the shirring doesn't squeeze me like others do and the shoulders are wide enough for my frame, its just perfect. I am not keen on the full shirring cuts now but I do love the fit. I also chose the hat because I knew I was going to work for triple fortune for 2 hours and I thought it would be respectful to wear something visible from them. I also wore a colar made by a Portuguese non-lolita designer to represent my country. I honestly love that i did not have to use a wig because it would be super tiring to have one on. Unfortunately none of the photographers asked me for a photo during the event so I have no decent shots of my outfit alone. And there goes one of my lolita dreams, to appear in a lolita major publication as a style reference and not in a group shot. This saddened me, I must confess.

After taking a walk around the room and chatting with some people it was then time for me to work at the triple fortune booth. Unfortunately that meant I couldn't go on stage to great the visitors in Portuguese but seeing as there were (that I know of) only two portuguese girls in the event - and one of those was me) not much was lost i suppose.

Working for triple fortune was interesting, I got to use my very basic japanese with Babi and Kaie and I hope they appreciated that I tried my best to help out that way. I did not get to speak to them about non business related things because I wanted to be professional and also because i'm shy and i was very busy haha. Rosalynn has a photo of me there, which I like a lot. It's the only one I have. <3

It was very interesting to feel how much the attendees wanted those bonnets and i tried my best to advise them on the best colors to match their styles/outfits.

After that I got to see a bit of the Mix brand / Indies brands fashion show which had a lot of very original looking items and also major brand pieces from brands I love like Atelier Pierrot and Juliette et Justine. There were also non lolita items of course since other styles were involved this year.
Here's a video of the fashion show by rosalynn - LINK

Girls seemed very busy and focused taking photos of one another and more than half of the guests were wearing lighter colors and princessesque coordinates, I felt a bit different i suppose.

There were also fashion shows from Triple Fortune (finally seeing the girls in the full coordinates made the rehearsal movements make total sense, it was a perfect show!).  love that green coordinate and i adore the male stule shirt. And I still want the black, red, ivory argyle pattern bustier.

After that I finally had a bit of time to get some photos taken with some friends or people that I have a connection with. I am glas i managed to get some photos, this year I honestly feel like I rushed so much it made it harder to enjoy myself although I could totally tell the event was a total success which made me happy of course.

I finally got to meet Rosalynn! She is so young and sweet and she is always super excited for everything and cheerful that i guess i cannot help but to adore it. She was wearing sweet lolita which is totally her thing and she looked adorable. I also met her mom and had the chance to tell her that i love how much support she gives to her and how much i wish i had the luck to have the same and that was also one of the special lver moments for me. At least looking back I always seem to remember that moment so I think it is.

Lempicka Maria was also there and I had met her already. We share a love for Moi-même-Moitié
but although i branch into many other brands and styles she doesn't seem to which I admire.
She is always super sweet to me when we meet and she treats me with much care and respect and I value
that very much. I am so glad we got to take a photo together this year too. <3

Nana and Lea looked amazing of course, they always do and they are so nice, I really like them both. They are so pretty, its ridiculous really.
And on the right is Spiro, one of the amazing russian lolitas at the event. I am a big fan of their community, after being in love with the Finnish community I later fell for the russian in terms of fashion sense. They just really know how to do ott and fabulous coordinates as a whole and they are all such an inspiration for me. Spiro curiously is the only one that I managed to talk to for more than 2 minutes and she was just great to me during the whole event and I am going to be forever grateful.

There's someone I need to meantion in this post too with which I have no photos, Ada. Ada was amazing to me as well. Not because she gave me her raffle prize (how nice does someone have to be) but because I was feeling down, tired and just a bit odd at some point and she just made sure I got in a brighter spirit. Thank you Ada!

I managed to cheat my shy nature and ask Babi and Kaie for a photo when they came to me and gave me one of their catalogues with their autograph to repay me for the help that afternoon. I really like this photo too, i think we look really nice together I must say. <3

The other Portuguese attendee is Isuzu. She is actually living in Paris so technically I was the only one that went from my country which is kinda special but mostly very sad. It was really nice to see her even there, it made me feel more at ease i guess.

Another great surprise this trip was that I ran into yourpervert who has always been those people who's photo posts i'd usually follow like crazy. Flawless style and great personality. Another one of those people i'd friend irl if only i had been lucky enough to be live near of.

Vief and Annso did not twin as usual but they were still a pair. Vief looked so adorable in Kodona, she totally can pull it off and they were just bubbly and nice as usual. Thank you for everything Vief.

I also met Shannie Bee during this trip and I feel in love with her outfit for Lver, she added wings to the back of her dress, and the dress was to die for, the whole thing was flawless. She is super sweet, I barely knew her before but now I have discovered her blog and I adore it, I'll surely follow from now on.

After this I went on stage finally to represent my community and after saying goodbye and helping clean up there was of course the group shots and such. I did not manage to be in the group photo for last year's SFE event so I was glad I managed to be in this years photo.

You can spot me if you watch at 5:40 <3 Thank you Cristina for the video.

After everyone left I stayed and we took down all the items and made sure nothing was left behind. It was time to leave the venue.
I then left home and when I arrived everyone was taking a rest but online people were talking about dinner and drink plans so me and Jo decided we'd go out. We made dinner plans with Kyra and got lost so Kyra and her husband came to us. Hah and we had a map! Not our best moment. The place we chose was closed but there was a japanese restaurant nearby and we decided to try it and we were lucky, it was affordable and the food was good. After that we got in the subway and met with the best people and had the (literally) worst Mohito I have ever had.
But left with the best photo.

I of course met and talked to many amazing people that day but unfortunately I took very little photos. Every time there's an event I always regret that I did not take enough photos and despite that this repeats itself.

I have been looking at blog posts and I also talked to people at the event and everyone adored it this year. French Café and all the Street Fashion Europe members did an amazing job. It is an honor to have been part of it again this year.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post.
Love,
Jo

Paris - La Vie en Rose - Part One

Hello everyone,

I have been absent again, I know, unfortunately I haven't had a lot to post about lately. But this is not the case today as I am here to finally post about the hottest lolita event of the year for all European Lolitas, La Vie en Rose, the 2015 event by Street Fashion Europe (along with the local community of course).

Not sure if you know but I am the SFE representative for my country, Portugal and so it is partially a responsability to attend every year. Last year, for Enchanted, I could only attend the actual weekend events and couldn't help much in the days before, etc so when i heard that I'd have the week before off work, I was super happy and started planning as soon as possible.
Unfortunately I also found out that I was going alone. The Portuguese community is very small and only one or two people ever consider saving up for things like this and the ones that do were not going. I had to look for a place to stay with someone else and share the costs/to have more fun (because going alone is no fun).

I was super lucky because when i posted asking for room mates one of the people i love most contacted me and asked me if i'd like to stay with her and other girls. It was a bit on the pricey side for me but i could not pass on that opportunity, I still cannot believe how lucky I was to have spent those days with the coolect flat mates ever.

So I booked for a thursday - the event would be saturday/sunday.
I had no idea what to wear up to the last minute and ended up sewing the whole night before leaving because i just came up with a last minute concept. I was pretty inspired and loved working on the pieces but also freaked out a bit because of how different the whole thing was.

I did not sleep and just woke up my husband who would take me to the airport.
I used ryanair because it was the cheapest option. The problem is how distant the airports are from the city centers and Paris Beauvais is pretty distant. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was the cold, it was freezing!
The bus trip gave me some time to sleep which was good and when i arrived i remembered the stop and managed to get quickly to the subway. The trip was short, around 4 stops and the trains did not have a lot of people so the bags were not a problem (but of course i'd like some elevators to carry them with less effort but everyone knows how bad the stations are for people carrying bags, tons of stairs, no escalators and no elevators).

I got out and got lost for the first time, but eventually found the place (people had to help me though, thank goodness for my terrible french).

When I arrived at the building, i managed to go in, and get to the second floor  but after ringing the bell i discovered my room mates were not in. I managed to contact them soon after but they were at another location so i'd have to wait a while which was fine. I eventually got in before that because there is a connection to another flat for the care taker.

When the girls arrived I changed into something more fitting and we went to a café where we had something to eat.
We walked a bit in champs elysees and then went back to the flat where i just passed out. The girls woke me up to go to a party at Alex's that night.

We were supposed to take food and drinks so we stopped at a supermarket and i bought a bottle of Port wine which wasn't expensive, a bit more than in Portugal but not a ridiculous price. I felt stupid though, "should have brought a bottle myself" - i thought.
It was a great party, I met some new girls there and everyone was super at ease and friendly. I drank a bit i must say and have no regrets.

Friday, the 20th February

The next day strangely we managed to wake up quite easily. It was still morning and we were all strolling around Paris. The plan was to visit the Parisian BABY, the Stars Shine Bright store, Axes Femme and then eventually I'd have to leave the girls to go to the venue location to work (as part of Street Fashion Europe).
Along the way we saw some lovely buildings, I found Paris to be rather charming, I always love the architecture as well as the smell of fresh bread and pastries everywhere.

Finally we arrived at the store. It was the same as I remember it except for some reason I couldn't really remember the street, it looked quite different from before, i think we just went there from a completely different side for me.

The store was almost empty, only two girls were inside but left soon after. I found the store to be reasonably stocked although there was nothing small that i wanted and I always find it impossible to afford the prices. I fell in love with the blouses of course and strangely I fell in love with one dress that Jo tried on and I asked to try on as well.

It was the Alice and the Pirates Rosier onepiece in dark blue and white lace and although i usually find white lace on dark colors a bit tacky i just loved it on. I wish i could find it again at a more affordable price but that's probably not going to happen.

Oh and I also fell for this dress, I have always wanted it and its as beautiful as I had imagined. Unfortunately it was in the store window so I did not have the courage to ask to try it on so I have no idea if it would fit me.

We were at the store for some time, the girls got some items and then we met up with other lolitas there was well, it was great because they knew exactly how to get to the Axes Femme store too. I really was having a great time and dreading having to leave their company to be honest.

Along the way (now it was raining a bit) we saw something lovely, live painting restoration being done by artists in a "school" or shop. They were so focused in their work they did not even notice that all of us stopped staring in awe.

Eventually we found our way to the Axes Femme store. We also met Kyra and some others at that time which was very good for me since i had no idea where the heck I was at that time and they would eventually have to go to the venue location as well.

The Axes Femme was in a completely different neighborhood, in the middle of many other boutiques which made sense. I love how the store was lit and the decoration, it was very agreable inside as well. the store seemed reasonably stocked but for some reason while I was browsing everything kept disappearing, a certain girl in our party was doing some serious shopping. Honestly I was in awe and positively jealous. I believe the store girls were very happy with the visit, I myself got two things in the store. The prices were much more expensive than the japanese ones but for Paris it seemed super affordable imo.

We then went to have tea in a famous tea place neaby since none of us had eaten anything.
The smell when one went in is impossible to describe, it just smelt like... happiness, it was ridiculously fabulous. I just inhaled deeply a couple of times and I swear I saw one of the employees let go of an honest smile then. I wanted to bring back some tea but was unsure of how much I could spend and I have an inability to make choices when there's too much to choose from and there certainly was. I know they have branches in Japan so when I am there I will try to visit their location in Osaka. I really loved it.

The seating dispositions and the light in the area we got places were however much less impressive, i really do not respond well to yellow light which was what they had so that's why the photos are all so unimpressive. Still I took a photo of their meny as well as the food I ordered and will let you come to your own conclusions. Either way, if you are in Paris and you enjoy good tea, I do recommend a visit.

After this and unfortunately the service was slow and it took a while to be able to leave we ended up arriving at our destination later than we had hoped and felt a bit guilty. Fortunately nobody seemed to worry much about that and I actually found that everything was set up and going well.
We stayed for hours and eventually everyone left for the organization dinner. We went to a crepe place and the crepe were divine as well.

The triple fortune staff came along and so did the photographers but not the Btssb staff which is understandable, it was a very tiring day for everyone.
I eventually managed to get to the flat alone (thanks to kyra and dom <3).
The girls were still awake so we sat in our strangely decorated study room for a while and drank some wine. Everyone was excited for the next days to come.

Oh and this is what I wore, I picked something confortable and the beret was the best pick because of the rain as well. Nothing too special. (and those are the venue bathrooms, i mean isn't that ridiculously awesome?!)

Hope you enjoyed reading,
Love,
Jo
