Iberic lolita meeting (2nd edition)

Hello again everyone, On the 30th of March me and a couple of lolita from Portugal went on a journey to meet up with our fellow neighbor lolitas. It is the second time we have visited their community and it was a very interesting experience like it was the last time. The meeting always starts in a rather stressful manner as we are always in panic of loosing the only available train to Vigo from Porto. This time, however, things went a lot smoother than the last and everyone got to the designated meeting point more or less on time. During the 4 hour train ride we always chat and laugh a lot and i absolutely love it. I do admit that i am very partial to traveling by train as I always have loved it. We were 5:4 girls and a boy and we went in sweet, classic and gothic lolita which is always good. I don't really find it as interesting when everyone is wearing the exact same style.

fla, lucythewhite and Mineko in the train
me, nymia-san and Aikosuki :D
We arrived on time and when we set fot in the Vigo station we could see the spanish group waving from afar. It's always such a nice experience, everyone greeting one another and a lot of hugging and kissing as well. We left the station and were taken to the next destination: a coffee shop.

The coffee shop window. So pretty!

I had Yunnan tea and a strawberry / white chocolate muffin, YUM!
We then left and had lunch at a local chinese restaurant. After that the spanish girls felt like having an icecream. I was really shocked at how much those girls can eat... and most of them are smaller than me, i hate you! haha We walked around town for a while too, we saw a lot of people wearing historical costumes due to it being a day for the celebration for having driven the french away. It was fun to see all that while wearing lolita and kind of stealing the show too of course haha We ended up sitting down by the river and chatting and taking photos for a long time. It was fun and the weather was great.
I find out that people think i'm not fun at all to be around with because i don't smile in photos. That has nothing to do with it. But if you really insist, here you are, that's the idiotic smile i have on 95% of the time in meetups. Everyone who knows me can vouch for that. :P
Proper outfit shot. I'm wearing a MmM headdress, selfmade shirt, Atelier Pierrot jsk, offbrand stockings, Bordello (offbrand) boots and a triple fortune brooch).
Me and Mineko.Apparently its the first time we have ever taken a photo together so i think it deserved its own place in this post. She looks adorable as usual!
Lastly, a group shot. So many! It was very exciting!
And that's it, I hope you have enjoyed the post. I really liked this day and i can't wait to hear what you guys have to say. Also no dolls here, you doll hating readers you XD Love, Jo

Sunday bloody sunday!

Hello again,

We had a meeting set up for sunday to celebrate the birthday of missBunny. Unfortunately she was apparently very tired and in need of rest for personal reasons and she canceled it. But Vânia, Flávia and myself were totally up for it so we met anyway. We weren't expecting anyone else to come (and got confirmation later on haha) but then again even in our regular meetups there is almost never more than 3, 4 people tops and its still fun.

We scheduled for 3.30 but i was late and told them i'd go there later.
It was soooo hot outside, thankfully we went to a place that not only sells yummy pies and cake but also has air conditioning.
We chatted for a while, flipped throught the last bible and had yummy treats.
After that, since it wasn't as hot anymore, we went for a stroll and took the obligatory shots of the day.

At the local café, Vânia flips through the new bible and falls in love with the fawn stickers.

"I'm watching you!"

This is what i wore. Those socks make any dress seem short so my loyal Vm underskirt came to my rescue.

I must say that this day was one of the days when people stared and yelled rude things to us and to me the most. Vânia even commented that it "Must have been the weather" it was so bad! It was so bad that we were actually passing two cosplayers (there was a convention in my town this weekend) and the people were completely ignoring them and just staring at us. haha terrible, didn't feel like laughing yesterday...

Then to finish the day, I felt this awfull pain and had to take pain killers again. -_-;
I still had fun during the afternoon, thanks girls!

staying home

Hello everyone,

I am watching one of my favorite tv shows, masterchef australia and I thought i'd post about our latest lolita meeting.

Last sunday the 25th, we agreed to meetup because there is a newspaper interested in doing an article on lolita. We were waiting for a photographer to come as well but he ended up not showing up. I wasn't going to be featured because I do not want that sort of attention (mainly for professional reasons) but since they all came in the name of our community, since the media is a form of getting the style more known, I felt a little bad for the mixup. Luckly everyone seems to have had fun so it ended up not being a big deal.

When the girls came to my place I was still doing cleaning and in my pjs haha so i had to just grab something really fast. Since i had no time to do anything to my hair I did what anyone would do in that situation, I grabbed a bonnet and that was the starting point to this very simple almost casual outfit.
Anyway too much bla bla.

Group photo: kirarah, evil_cupcake, me and bunny_sneezes <3

This is taken in my city's main avenue, i think its beautiful.

One this that I love in lolita is when people lay out the outfits that they are going to wear beforehand and post photos of coordinates like that. Don't even know why but i really love it. I almost never do that, i did that before the Paris trip though because my friends came over and teased me for not having the coordinates
ready in my head and for not having made the bag for the trip etc etc haha so i took photos of what i could wear and i just found them in the memory cards so enjoy:

I did wear this one exactly like this. I had just gotten that op and my friend Vania wanted me to wear it asap. It was a good choice due to the fact that it is so light, easy to pack and confortable like all my Moi-même-Moitié stuff. Seriously if you want a brand you can pack in a tiny space, Moitié is the way to go.

This was my first pick for the Btssb tea party but I ended up having to cut on package so it was a no-no. It's cute though, i should wear it like that one day. Too sweet for me you say? Bollocks.

This is what i ended up wearing to the Btssb tea party. It's a lot more "me" than the other one so i guess it was a good pick.

I also just got my Gothic & Lolita Bible nº41. I always love seeing what's on there and reading through the silly articles and also interesting facts but i must say that this one wasn't as nice as the previous one. They made a whole section dedicated to halloween and the photos have really dark (intentional) lighting that it really takes away from the beauty of the clothes. I think last years was far superior. Anyway just babbling. haha

Hope you enjoyed reading! Next post will be a "requests post". Will do that in a couple of minutes.

Summer is the archnemesis of Lolita

Hello,

I haven't been wearing lolita very often. I often feel as if summer is indeed the arch-enemy of lolita fashion, i don't even feel like going out at all let alone in lolita. What about you?

We did have a meeting this monday and so I had to dress up a bit. I still kept it very simple and it was ok heat wise. I had a lot of fun actually, I always do to be honest. There's no point in attending those if we're not going to have fun, right? So I just try to get the most out of them. ^_^;

We had the visit of two spanish lolitas this time which made it much more intesting. I didn't talk to them as much as I had wished but I was a bit busy with being the organizer and the like. I really hope we have another meet in Vigo in the near future so I can see them again. <3

Group Photo: a good mix of styles, ages and even experience in lolita. The best kind of meeting imo.

This was my outfit:

Pretty much all of it is from Moi même Moitié so its a simple, clean outfit this time.

I still have some things to sell and my house is having a stuff overload right now for various reasons so I cannot wait to get rid of everything. There's this one set (skirt+underskirt + bolero) that I had previously tried selling for around 100 euros which didn't sell and I cannot honestly understand why The print is fabulous and any gothic lolita lover would like wearing it imo. "So why don't I keep it?" ou ask? Well the thing is I already have the jsk and long coat in the exact same print and colorway!!!! XD

So I decided to place it on my dressform and use it as decoration in my room for the time being. It's just so pretty!
Worn over a long black skirt, with a mmm turtleneck lace cutsew and my triple fortune hat. <3
Metamorphose Swan Border print skirt + bolero (2007)

These are the other pieces I already own:
Metamorphose Swan Border print coat (2007).
Metamorphose Swan Border print jsk (2007).

So you see, as much as I love this print and Metamorphose's gothic stuff, its ridiculous to keep that set too...
I hope i can sell it or trade it and that it goes to someone who can make this marvelous print pop up as it deserves to. ^_^;

It's very late, I'm posting from the hotel in Vigo.
Love,
Jo
