"Stephanie" Sunday

Today the country is on alert due to a storm we named Stephanie and so obviously I decided to stay in. I say obviously but I just watched the news and they were showing people actually taking strolls near the shore... with babies, dogs, jogging, etc. I think this is ridiculous to be honest, when someone tells me to not go to a certain place because there is a storm, i won't go. There might be no problem in doing so in reality but its the idea behind the action that bothers me, and its something I hope my daughter will not copy.

Anyway, I took the day to clean mold. I have mold at home, it has completely ruined the back of my ikea shelves in my living room and covered the stone near the windows and also another pices of furniture. It smells like mold when we go in the living room too. I cleaned so much mold I still feel the mold in my throat and its a horrible feeling.

Unfortunately i could not take everything out and the shelves are now ruined. I wonder what it looks like the other side, i didn't have enough strength to take them out of their place to check the back.

After that I had scheduled to meet online with my facebook friends and so got dressed. I felt like wearing something lighter today and this is what I ended up putting on. I never really know what I'll be wearing, i'm just like this, this is how i have fun with lolita.

 The hair accessories are a mix of offbrand pieces, the necklace and socks are metamorphose, the op is Atelier Pierrot, the shoes are queen bee, the bolero is IW and the wig is cyperous.
The online thing was a bit less long this time because Mari was not sleeping and needed my attention but it was still amazing to talk to the few who decided to join me. Again a big thanks to Azu, Meow, Pam for the company!

My husband arrived and my brother decided to come visit (my brother smelled horribly of smoke and I got even more confident that I will not become a regular smoker sometime soon. I hate that smell ;_; he was sad when i told him that he smelled like that but i'm honest. :P

My husband brought some food from his lunch today which was nice and I just made dinner for my brother as well. Mari is now sleeping and we are just spending some time in familly in the sofa, seems perfect if it wasn't for the fact that everyone has to go back to work tomorrow and also for the mold in my throat.

I am about to post this and then i'm going to watch another episode of reign. I started watching it after someone in the bjd community told me about it. The reason I started watching it is that the other two series I follow have finished and I'm not sure when the next seasons will be made. I hate that, wish they would just continue the series until they ended and that'd be it. I don't like the wait.

You've got mail

Hello!

Very short post today. I crossed my fingers for a good day and that resulted in a sort of stress free day at work and a couple of packages in the mail.

I had ordered a pair of very expensive bjd socks that i fell in love with a couple of months ago and also a pair of shoes for my msd. These things from China always take so long to arrive... one almost forgets!

Looking at them i kinda wish the shoes were for SD size too because they look perfect together!

The other packages were two large packs from my inlaws with presents for everyone, one purchase i made a very long time ago and also the last part of my xmas gift:

Mari's clothes, books, a basket with plastic food and plates, snacks.

Matcha Capuccino for me (yay!)

Food goodies for my husband (it makes him so happy...)

Aren't my inlaws amazing? I love them so much... can't wait to see them again.  

The famous Innocent World Mook with the canvas violin bag. My husband got me this for xmas and its totally worth it. <3

This was my own purchase, a Atelier Pierrot jsk with a chandelier print in off white chiffon. I do not know the name of the jsk. 

The third separate package was from my ss, a Grimoire Lucky Pack. I must say I am a bit disappointed, for the money i spent I was expecting more tights so I might sell the otk socks for less than retail price to make some money back. I can wear the otk but they are a bit too... girl of the forest for my style.

Oh I also got another letter from the lovely Haku, I hope i can reply very soon! I love receiving letters. <3

Not too shabby huh? It's been a while since I got so many things in a go!

Time management

Hello everyone and Happy Chinese New Year!

I was ridiculously busy last week at work and so I wanted to spend a quiet weekend at home this time. Still I ended up having an odd weekend and failing to meet up with friends due to my poor time management skills.

Saturday I wanted to take my familly out for lunch and so me, my mom, my older brother, my husband and Mari did just that. We wanted to go to a more modern place, maybe have some brunch? but my mother is very traditional so we ended up at a typical portuguese restaurant instead.
We had: Arroz de Polvo (octopus rice); Tripas à moda do Porto (tripes, oporto style) and Vitela Assada (roasted veal).

We ended up taking a stroll around town and even visited the nicest comic book store we have in our city by far, they even have a gorgeous space for art exhibitions. I have not been there in a while so in order to make up for it and since my brother was eyeing two manga tombs, i just paid for them. Hope he reads them soon and maybe i'll ask to read them after he does. ^^ The store staff are also very nice people and we have a long story, i've been a customer for longer than I have been into lolita, ever since my teenage years and actually the first ever portuguese lolita meeting had that store as a meeting spot.

We then took my mom home and left my brother where he wanted to be left and went home ourselves. We went by the local chinese supermarket first.

When I got home I took some photos:

 This was my first Moi-même-Moitié dress and I still adore it. I find that it makes my chest look huge but i suppose that, if i was smaller, it wouldn't. It also suits shorter girls better but so does everything else i guess. I decided to use my victorian maiden chiffon underskirt because it would look even shorter with these btssb boots. The hair accessory is triple fortune.


Today I woke up and just went straight to the kitchen. I cleaned it completely and then asked my husband to help me make Gyoza. I didn't have chinese dumplings this chinese new year so gyoza sounded like a nice option since its basically almost the same except fried.
I think they look decent, they tasted heavenly!

When I finished cleaning the table and kitchen and my brother said goodbye (he slept over) it was already 3pm. I had scheduled to meet friends who also collect bjd at 3pm and since i did not have their number and I was running so late I ended up not meeting them which was the worst part of the weekend.

I took some photos of my other girls so that I would feel like they went to the meeting... which they didn't. They looked so pretty too, what a shame!

Yes I am pretty boring, they are all pretty frilly too. :| 

I think Anne will be the classic/gothic lolita, Aléxia will be a sort of sweet lolita but I still am undecided on names and styles for the new girls, including this little monica doll.

And that was it, my weekend. I hope my week goes smoothly. <3

Christmas 2013

Hello again!

So how was your Christmas? Mine was very nice actually. Usually we have some familly drama going on but this year, even though we had a problem which might had resulted in some drama, everything went smoothly and I think everyone had fun.

I started preparing earlier this time, set up the table, organized the presents, got the room tidy and cut the veggies etc (got a cut from it :x) and then when my mother arrived we just finished preparing the meal and I got the chance to shower, change and also got Mari in a nicer looking outfit. I wanted to feel pretty this time so I wore lolita. I figured my crown label velvet green jsk was an appropriate pick so i went with that.

At first I wasn't took keen on my tree decorations because I wanted it all to be white and gold but then i realised the purple decorations actually go perfectly with these wonderful glasses I got from my friend fla. 

We were 6: me, my husband, my daughter, my mother and my two brothers.

This year I still received some really nice christmas cards from friends which made me happy. I also use them as decoration because looking at them also makes me happy. Thanks guys! <3

Christmas time in Portugal always has a couple of staple desserts. I think all households have them: Bolo Rei (which I do not like); Spongecake; Crême Brulée; several types of cheese and nuts and French Toast. We also got a chocolate cake that was super yummy this year. 

As for the food itself its usually boiled codfish with vegetables (cabbage, carrots, onion, potatoes), eggs and also octopus (my favorite). We also got smoked salmon, prawns and ham as appetizers. 

The next day for lunch most people have meat: turkey, lamb, pork... depends on one's taste. We have the habit of cooking turkey with chestnuts and farofa filling. 

I also drink Vinho verde which is my favorite wine. I like drinking it with everything so i even have it the next day even though you are supposed to drink red wine with roasted meat. 

After eating we decided to play a game of Trivial Pursuit. We have  not gotten a recent version so we are still playing the 20th anniversary edition which is not up to date at all making it all a lot more hilarious. haha

We enjoyed playing so much that we only opened the presents a while past midnight.

We always ask someone to be that year's Santa Claus, we have a suit for that. Even if we are all grown ups (well now there's my daughter but she's too small to understand) we still like to do this. 

This year we asked my older brother to be santa. 

Opening all the presents took close to one hour but we were finally done.

We just watched tv, chatted and went to bed. It was a nice day.

I'm back!

Hello everyone,

I am sorry for the absense. The reason why I have not posted recently is because I've been so busy at work. I honestly am not sure if i'll keep on having time to post anymore but i'll do my best to keep up.
